Enlighten-Action for Epilepsy works with many people who live in silence for fear they will be discriminated against because of their condition.
 
Job loss, lack of family support, physical violence, and isolation are just some of the cases we come across because of the attitudes towards epilepsy.

Enlighten is a Hong Kong charity, Licence No. 91/6578.  Our vision is that people with Epilepsy will achieve greater control of their lives through support, public education and awareness and that they will be given equal opportunities in our society; but to do this, we need your help.

We receive no government subsidies. We are 100% funded through voluntary donations, local Foundations, Corporate donations and ‘Friends of Enlighten’ support. 

Whilst we believe we have accomplished a tremendous amount, there is still much for us to do.  Epilepsy is still a hidden condition in Hong Kong.
